This program awards full scholarships to deserving but financially challenged students of pharmacy and selected courses to help them attain tertiary education and to help alleviate the shortage of pharmacists in the country. Dependents of soldiers who are in active service, killed in action, incapacitated, or died in the line of duty are also beneficiaries of this program.
Eligible to apply are financially-challenged students with a general weighted average of 2.5 and above (80% and above); who are single and of good moral character; not on any other scholarship or educational plan; and not a dependent of an employee of Mercury Drug Corporation, Mercury Group of Companies or its subsidiaries. Pharmacy students must be on their last two years of study and be not more than 21 years of age.
Pharmacy applications are coursed through the school deans of member-schools of the Philippine Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (PACOP) who conduct the initial screenings and make the necessary endorsements to MDFI. Final screening and selection is conducted by MDFI.
